“The Sex Pistols” at first impression, are far from admirable. However I think that when you look at what they did, you’ll see they were willing to do what no one else would do, which I view to be a tremendous quality. The Sex Pistols gave their generation a dream and a voice, and that is something I wish we would all strive to do in one way or another, however big or small, especially if everyone around us is in decay.
The band itself was only around for 26 months, yet in those 26 months they became one of the most iconic bands in history. In the documentary “The Filth and the Fury” former Sex Pistols vocalist said “We did what we had to, which is why we didn’t survive. Only the fakes survive”.
I am not saying I agree with everything they did, however, I greatly admire their unrelenting tenacity and earnestness.

I understand what you mean, but I think that giving vent to your own feelings is not inherently good. It is good that they didn't want to be fake, but there are times when a little fakery could have spared the world from some pretty strocious things...like the Sex Pistols.
